Eric Fox aka eleven point five is back again, and what a great way to start the middle of the month welcoming spring with this lovely EP, despite the grey color. Grey has a beautiful warmth to it with a touch of sadness along the way. A different sound coming from Eric Fox but is very pleasant to listen to.

Complementing the ep is two remixes from Dangerbox Artist Eric Shaw and Affecto, both did a superb job at delivering these monster remixes. Eric Fox made sure to include a second track to go along with this EP titled “Transparent”, which still has more of the eleven.five sound, yet again beautiful melodies and bass. Make sure to grab a copy, and enjoy the spring season with this EP!

Grey has a beautiful warmth to it with a touch of sadness along the way. A different sound coming from Eric, but it is very pleasant to listen to and it would certainly fit well in just about any progressive trance set.

Eric Fox made sure to include a second track to go along with this EP titled “Transparent“, which still has more of the eleven.five sound, yet again beautiful melodies and bass. I’d say this very track belongs int he Anjunadeep collection, but it seems to have been snagged up by the ladies and gents at Dangerbox Recordings.

Make sure to grab a copy, and enjoy the spring season with this EP! If you’re interested in hearing the tracks, head over past the break and be sure to vote for your fave!

The Verdict:

This isn’t the first time I’ve had the chance to review eleven.five’s work, but it is certainly the first time I post it to MusiCritics. eleven.five’s sound is a little formulaic at times, but it certainly does feel good to listen to it, and I find the sound original enough to entertain a few listens. Transparent is the better of the two original productions on this release, but it’s the remixers that absolutely steal the show.

Xspective Sense puts in an effort that deserves mentioning, as his rework of Grey is both gritty and dirty (intro/outro), but the sheer beauty he displays in the breakdown offers such a stark contrast that you can’t help but be drawn to listening to it, over and over again. Eric Shaw’s rework is also just as memorable, giving the track a danceable, funky groove that seems to have a bit of french pop/disco influence to it.”

DJ Support:
Ville Lope – “For me Dangerbox stands for quality in world of progressive in the true nature of the word. I can’t skip a release nor a track. I spotted Transparent in your radioshow earlier, loved the bassline from that moment on. Again, it’s impossible to choose the best mix. Again I Downloaded everything an choose the track to play depending on the crowd or the way Im taking the mix.” 8/10

Dimitri Kechagias (Dance Radio) – REVIEW -

One of the most consistent and always forward thinking independent US label is without doubt Dangerbox. Their releases stand out from the rest because they dare to bring new elements and even in my opinion to be from the very first labels that successfully have added dirtiness in trance music. The grungy electro influenced bass and the swanky beat for the very first time were combined with warm melodies and unexpected vocals. The brand new Eleven point Five double tracker is exactly the combination of old styles to bring out something fresh. Original follows the path of the DeadMau5 style in a track that can serve as perfect opener for a sweet melodic prog trance set and provide the right atmosphere for the tracks to follow. Afecto Dirty mix as the name suggests is a powerful tech trancer and for sure perfect if you want to combine metallic techniness and warm mesmerizing melodies. The best mix in my opinion comes from Eric who adds even rock guitar riffs combined with the lovely melancholic little lead melody that is impossible not to be absorbed from your skin to your body and radiate its strength to your brain. This is the art of Trance for me. Lastly, there is the bonus Transparent track that can be perfect filler in your set as it can keep the clubbers interest with its clever and unexpected composition.” 10/10
